Author Name:  V.S. Nelson
Book Name: Eternal Nights – Sekhmet’s Guardians – Book Two
Genre: steamy paranormal romance
Subgenre: urban fantasy

With each passing day Jessica’s consciousness grew stronger. For twenty years she was content to remain as she was—trapped inside another. The life she led came to an abrupt end the moment she laid eyes on Raphael. At first she suspected they were destined to be together--his gentle touch confirmed it. Although he didn’t know it, he ignited waves of a fiery passion that burned deep into her soul. It became brighter every day, giving her the strength she needed. Somehow she would find a way to free herself from her grandmother’s powerful magic.

Since her birth she learned vicariously from observing others of her kind and until now she was satisfied with the life she led. She had everything one would need to live a meaningful life without the stress the human world inflicts on its inhabitants. With each passing day her obsession to be more than she was, intensified. Jessica knew she was gifted with her race's abilities to communicate with others but until now she had never used them. They say practice makes perfect and she was at a point now where she could make her presence known—at least to him.

Here's a steamy excerpt from my short novel, Araya's Addiction.

Watching her expression of ecstasy blew him away. So untamed. He’d never been as intrigued and turned on by any of his other sexual encounters. This female—this demon—sunk her claws into him and pricked all the right nerves.

“Not yet,” he said against her clit. “I want your sweet cunt to weep with desire for me, Araya. I want you to desire me like you’ll never desire another,” he said as he plunged his tongue inside her slick opening.

“Oh god,” she wailed, thrusting her hips, making his tongue go deeper. “I do. Please,” she panted. “I want…”

“Tell me,” he encouraged her. “Tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you.”

“I want to feel you. Need to know…”

He drew her clit into his mouth, rolling his tongue slowly over the engorged bud. He wanted her to want him like no other, wanted to know, without a doubt, she wouldn’t be able to say he tricked her into this. The fantasy didn’t work unless she was mindless with lust and emotion for him.

Review of The Descendant by Kelley Grealis

Title: The Descendant
Author: Kelley Grealis
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Length: 288 pages
Cover design by A BCD Creative
Edited by Jenny Bengen-Albert
ISBN-13: 978-0-615-61236-2

Allison Carmichael wakes from a car wreck with no memory of the past three years. She doesn’t recall her husband’s death or how she alienated her friends, and she definitely doesn’t remember anything about her new boyfriend Vincent Drake – a charismatic man with a penchant for rare and unique possessions. In fact, the only things familiar to Allison are her seemingly common ailments – insomnia, lack of appetite, erratic body temperature – which have gone undiagnosed and are worsening.

But Vincent knows exactly who, and what, Allison is – a mortal descendant of the first vampire. He is a vampire who has watched over Allison and her ancestors since the Biblical times of Cain and Abel ensuring their secret is kept. Once he realizes Allison’s symptoms are accelerating and transforming her, he’ll stop at nothing to have her.

Vincent tells Allison that she is a descendant and the first of her kind to exhibit signs of vampirism. Her worsening symptoms mean that she must decide between risking her mortal death if she cannot control her symptoms or fully transforming into a vampire and damning her soul for eternity. A decision made even more difficult when Allison discovers that Vincent has manipulated her life, and everyone in it, so that he can have the one thing no one else in the world has – the first descendant-turned-vampire.

There are a lot of good things about The Descendant. Allison's weird illness, the sexy, mysterious stranger at the party, Allison's confusion after the car wreck, the Garden of Eden story line, and the biblical twist on vampire lore was super creative.

Review of Love is Darkness by Caroline Hanson

Love is Darkness
The Valerie Dearborn Trilogy, Book 1
Caroline Hanson
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Publisher: Host of the Hills
ISBN: 9781465819901 ASIN: B005JMJ046
Number of pages: 322 Word Count: 90,000
Cover Artist: Phat Puppy Art

Valerie Dearborn wants a cotton candy life, but it’s more like a puffer fish: pointy, unusual, and—if not prepared exactly right—deadly.

In London for graduate school, Val knows she's finally free. Her father and ex-almost-boyfriend are back in California and she's out of the Vampire hunting biz for good. Or is she?

She draws the attention of Lucas, a 1600 year old Vampire, and King to his kind. He’s also wicked hot. As golden as Lucifer, and just as tempting, he makes Valerie an offer she can't refuse— help him find out if the Others (Empaths, Fey and Werewolves) still exist or he'll stop protecting those she loves.

Lucas tells her that Empaths were a Vampire’s biggest weakness before going extinct hundreds of years ago. While the Fey or a Werewolf might kill a Vampire, an Empath could enslave them, seducing or harming with emotions at will. The one detail he leaves out? Valerie is an Empath.

And after 1600 years of an emotionless existence, Lucas wants Valerie like a recovering alcoholic wants a wine cooler.

Can she keep those she loves alive, stop Lucas from munching on her, survive a fanged revolution and still find a way to have that boring, normal life she’s always wanted? Probably not, but boy is she gonna try!
This is a full length novel and contains adult content.

Welcome to my stop on the Wet & Wild Blog Hop.

Be sure to enter the giveaways below!

Have you ever watched an Incubus shower? No? Well, the heroine in my erotic paranormal romance - Araya's Addiction, did. And she definitely found it to be wet & wild!

Here's an excerpt...

Araya reached the door and the sight that met her eyes almost floored her. Through the fog of the glass shower door, she watched Kean’s muscled form beneath the flow of water, his head bent forward, one hand pressed against the shower wall in front of him. The other hand gripped his shaft. He pumped it with long, slow strokes from base to tip, sometimes lingering at the head.

His eyes opened as if he sensed her presence, and he inclined his head toward her. She wanted to close the door, but the alluring scene held her captive, her feet frozen in place. He stopped stroking himself just long enough to slide open the shower door, giving her a completely unobstructed view of the water running down his muscled body, running off the thick head of his erection.

Not only did her mouth water, her pussy ached and flooded with desire.

He resumed the stroking, faster this time, sometimes breaking the motion to slide his fingers over his balls. She saw the muscles in his arm tense as he squeezed and stroked harder, faster.

His strained voice startled her out of her daze. “If you want it, hurry.”

Book Spotlight & Giveaway: Felicity Heaton's Unleash

Title: Unleash
Author: Felicity Heaton
Series:  Vampire Erotic Theatre, #6 (final book in series)
Genre:  Paranormal Romance/Erotica

A powerful vampire lost deep in his bloodlust, Snow is a savage animal, mindless with rage and a thirst for violence, and trapped with no hope of awakening from an endless nightmare… until a song draws him up from the abyss, restoring his sanity but leaving him haunted by the sweet feminine scent of lilies and snow, and fragmented familiar lyrics.

When the mysterious and beautiful songstress reappears in Snow’s room at Vampirerotique, she awakens a fierce protective streak and stirs dark desires that drive him to claim her as his female, even when he knows his touch will destroy her innocence.

A single forbidden taste is all it takes to unleash emotions in Aurora that she shouldn’t possess, tearing her between duty and desire, and luring her into surrendering to her wildfire passion and embracing hungers that burn so hotly they threaten to consume them both.

One act of kindness can lead to one thousand acts of sin though, each a black mark against the bearer’s soul and another grain of sand that slips through an hourglass. The clock is ticking and time is almost up. Can beauty save the beast?

Kara has been training for months to help take down Brakken—the merciless black-wing who is making life hell for the Demi├íre. But when Julian discovers a scout has been tracking Kara, he wants her out of the fight—even if it means breaking her heart in the process.

Gavin isn’t much better. He’s already lost so much to Brakken and has no intention of allowing the woman he loves to be the next sacrifice. He and Julian have their hands full trying to fight Brakken’s army and keep Kara safe, especially after her recent visit to the mythical white-wings. Since her return, she’s been acting decidedly…strange.

With a terrible battle looming, Kara doesn’t have time to think about her conflicted feelings for Gavin and Julian—or the fact that she’s developed an unnatural taste for Gavin’s blood. But if she thought it was complicated evading mysterious scouts and fending off vicious black-wings, she’s learning that’s nothing compared to loving two strong-willed men.

Review of Perfect Misfits by Lawna Mackie

Title: Perfect Misfits
Author: Lawna Mackie
Genre: romantic fantasy
Number of pages: 272
Word Count:  47853
Cover Artist: Myriah Reed

Book Description

Ryder, commander of the Levarian legion of gargoyles, has a problem. He keeps dreaming on duty…and falling…neither of which gargoyles ever do. Every dream is of the same woman, and every time, it brings on red-hot, searing pain in the crescent-shaped scar on his palm. Driven to find the woman and the reason for his bizarre dreams, he lets himself fall…

…right through to a place he never knew existed…to the woman of his dreams.

Labeled a misfit, Tempest was snatched away as a child and imprisoned in the hidden realm of Misfit Mountain. Locked up by Fedor, the ruler of the kingdom, who intends to take her as his bride, she has no choice but to brave the dangerous snow and ice of the Mountain to escape. Despairing, faced with the impossible choices of Fedor or death, love is the last thing on her mind, until Ryder snatches her from the air and into a whole new realm of feeling.

Can Ryder find the key to freeing her and save them both?

Perfect Misfits is a cute fantasy romance with several interesting characters. Rogue, a gargdog, was probably my favorite character. I love it when authors write animals into their stories and Rogue made me smile. Tempest, the heroine, learns that maybe being a misfit isn't so bad and Ryder, the hero, learns a little something about love. There were a few awkward phrases and passive sentences that could have knocked my socks off it changed up a little but it was fun enough to get over that. Perfect Misfits is my first gargoyle romance and I'll definitely be looking for more. Perfect Misfits has pixies, gargoyles, a gargdog, trolls, a villain and a little sex, all set in a world that took a lot of imagination to create. Definitely worth reading.

About the Author:
I have always believed in fairy tales and when I got tired of the old ones I made up my own. Each story would have a hero and heroine, but they were anything but typical.

I devoured my first romance novel when I was a teenager and soon discovered I couldn’t read them fast enough. Years later I stumbled across my first paranormal romance…an injustice would be done if I tried to explain my joy when I found this genre of romance. Now writing any type of love story is my passion, whether it’s paranormal, fantasy, historical or contemporary–for me it’s all about LOVE and a happy-ever-after.

I am truly blessed. My husband is my hero in every story. My family and my precious animals are my inspiration. We live on a small acreage in Didsbury, Alberta, with Dozer, Daisy, Mandarin and Peppers.

Happy reading everyone, I would love to hear from you.

How WriteWay Pro Helps Me Write a Synopsis #writewaypro @writewaypro

Ask a writer what one of their least favorite things to do is and many of them will tell you it’s writing a synopsis for their book. It’s often referred to as the “dreaded synopsis”. The prospect of breaking their entire story down to two or three pages is horrifying to some.

I had to write my first synopsis when submitting Araya’s Addiction, an erotic paranormal romance, to a publisher and didn’t really know how so I scoured the internet for tips and advice. Almost every article I came across mentioned how dreaded and hated synopsis writing was by authors and it scared me. I was thinking, “Oh crap. This is going to be the worst thing ever. Eevvveeerrrr.”

Luckily, I use WriteWay Pro and realized it could be a huge help in writing that scary synopsis.

With WriteWay Pro, out to the left of your manuscript is a scene tree. That’s right, I call it a scene tree. I’m sure WriteWay calls it something more sensible like an outline but whatever. You can label each individual scene and chapter with a fairly long title. I use it to very briefly describe what’s happening in each scene.

So when it comes time to write my synopsis, I simply export the scene tree to a word document and begin rewriting and expanding each scene title. At the end, I have a synopsis. Easy peasy.

Now, I’m not saying my synopses are the most fantastic things since puppy love, lite beer or white chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups but my editor hasn’t yet cringed in utter horror at the prospect of reading them. At least, not that she’s told me.

Review & Giveaway of Deer in the Headlights by Staci Hart

What do the Greek gods do when they're bored? Because they're always bored, so humans are the perfect players in their games.
Aphrodite owns love; she hasn't lost a competition on her turf in over three millennia. Apollo is on a mission to win. He's counting on it to finally get the one woman he's never been able to have. The two gods will choose their human players, and if Aphrodite can't get them together before the clock runs out, Apollo will get his way. And Aphrodite couldn't have that.

Lex and Dean are perfect for each other, they just don't know it yet. Dean is a perpetual bachelor, and a brooding, beautiful rock star. Lex is always with a man, but she'll never fully give herself up. Aphrodite has her work cut out for her, but if she can't make it work, no one can.
The gods have their own drama. Apollo killed Aprhodite's mortal love - they've got beef that's been dragging on for thousands of years. Ares, the douchebag, is forever trying to pick a fight, and trying to get Aphrodite into bed. And Persephone, Aphrodite's best friend, is the one person who Aphrodite shares everything with.
Follow the gods as they fight, laugh, cry, lose,  love, gain power, and make a mess with humans.

I loved the idea for Deer in the Headlights. Bored Greek gods using humans as players in a game/bet. Fun right? And it was fun. I enjoyed the personalities of the gods and how they really didn't act all that god-like. There were some pretty funny phrases uttered by them. Loved Aphrodite's dog too. Neat idea. :-)
