Welcome to Mutt or Meow Monday!
Mutt or Meow Monday is where we interview the author’s animal friends instead of interviewing the author. Let’s see what the animals have to say!
It’s great to have you here today.
Please introduce yourself.
My name is Severus. Severus the Cat. All you need to know about my breed, is that I am obviously well bred. I am a hunter. I am currently on a quest to capture a red dot that occasionally appears when my human pet, Cornelia, holds up a small cylinder object. Other than that important quest, I am a cat of leisure. When I am not sunbathing or resting, I like to sit on top of my human pet’s laptop or on top of a large book on the bottom of her bookshelf. I also enjoy the pastime of knocking things off the bookshelf for fun. After all, why would she put items there if not to have me knock them down.
Do you ever interrupt Cornelia Amiri for attention when she’s trying to write? For some strange reason, Cornelia has issues with me sitting on the laptop when she wants to write. She tries to talk me off, but I sit where I want to. She should know that by now. Sometimes she nudges me off, saying she’s very busy. And on occasion, she has actually picked me up off of the laptop. When she does that I turn my back to her. That behavior cannot be tolerated.
What do you wish Cornelia Amiri would do with her writing time instead of writing? Cornelia should spend every moment I am awake, petting me. Obviously, as a cat, I should be worshiped by humans, and petting is the most appropriate way to honor me and my feline greatness.
What’s the best part about living with an author? She always keeps the laptop nearby and powered up so it is comfortably warm for sitting on and for walking across the keyboard and for rubbing my face on the top of the screen.
What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling. In that book, Harry Potter admits my namesake, Severus Snape, was the bravest man he ever knew. I am as heroic as my namesake. I spend many hours hunting down and attacking vicious lizards and the mysterious red dot. I will capture it and put its light out, any day now.
Catnip, toys or scratching post? Scratching post
Head rubs, belly rubs or butt scratches? Head rubs
Final thoughts: My favorite cat quote is: " Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this."

Back cover blurb:
Calin has fantasized about Ever’s warm, curvaceous body since dancing with the vampiric fey woman a year ago. When they meet again, he wastes no time in claiming and capturing her. Once the sun rises, Ever can’t leave the earthly realm and is bound by fey lore to Calin. His lovemaking excites her like no fey man’s ever has, but she’s consumed by the vow she made to her sisters—that she would never leave them for a mortal. Fighting her feelings for Calin, Ever seeks help from goddess Morrigan.
The goddess might like to claim the handsome mortal for herself, so she frees Ever to return underhill. It isn’t until Ever is back with her sisters that she realizes her heart is still held captive by Calin. But Calin has spurned a goddess’s attentions…and now Morrigan’s lust has turned to vengeance.
Cornelia Amiri, who also writes as Maeve Alpin, is the author of 19 published books. She lives in Houston Texas with her son, granddaughter, and her cat Severus.

ReplyDeleteIt's so good to be here. Thank you for having us. Severus is happy to get some of the attention he deserves. He is my muse after all.
ReplyDeleteCool interview Severus :)
ReplyDeleteHow long have you shared a house with Ms. Cornelia?
I agree with you about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it's about the best book in the series.
Cornelia, are there going to be anymore books in the Dancing Vampires series? I LOVE the books!
Mindy :)

Hi Mindy,
ReplyDeleteSeverus: "Mindy, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. I have resided with Cornelia for five years now. She has had the pleasure of my company since I was a kitten. I really don't know what she would do without me. I also applaud your taste in books per your recommendation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I can see you are a discerning reader."
Cornelia: "Thank you so much, Mindy. Yes, there are two books in the Dancing Vampire series that are in edits now and will be released sometime in 2014. They are the 4th, Once Dance With A Vampire and the 5th, Valkyrie Vampire Fling. I plan to do a cover reveal on both at the TRS Thanksgiving party which begins on the 22nd and on Tina Donahue's blog on Dec 3rd. I am working on book 6 in the series now. I now have titled as - Some Vampires Shimmy.
Severus is adorable, Cornelia!
