Mini Interview with Chandra Ryan author of Ink in the Blood

Ink in the Blood
Chandra Ryan

Izzy has lived between two worlds her entire life—one filled with magic and darkness, the other populated by mundane humans. She was born into the magical world of the Community. But sexy, forbidden DEA agent Jacob belongs to the other. He has no idea her world even exists.

But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t noticed her. They’ve worked together for the past six months, attempting to bring down her drug-dealing half-brother while driving each other crazy with pent-up desire. But now that it’s time to say goodbye, they both find it impossible to let go.

After one passionate night together Izzy realizes her mistake. She can’t bring him into her world. She has to end things before she gets too attached. When he refuses to leave, she must find a way to guide him through the darkness.

Inside Scoop: In this scorching urban fantasy, ink is thicker than blood.
Mini Interview

Q: Do you have a favorite quote or line from Ink in the Blood? If so, please share.
A: My favorite line takes place when Izzy and Jacob are talking over the phone. She's realized that she can never have a relationship with Jacob and doesn't want anything less so she decides it'd be best to break it off before she gets too attached. I've always loved Jacob's response. Just the desperation and the longing held in it.
“I don’t think—” She needed to make a clean break but her heart ached at the words she was about to say. She never got the chance to say them, though.
“I’m standing in front of your door. Please, Izzy…”

Q: Convince readers to buy Ink in the Blood in 25 words or less.
A: This story has danger, intrigue, and a sexy shape shifter who can make herself look like anyone or anything. Oh, and just a little bondage.

Q: Name two things Izzy can’t live without.
A: Being a recovering addict, Izzy struggles daily to stay clean. So I'd say the two things she can't live without would be music and herbal tea. They help her stay centered in the chaos that is her life.

Q: Rate the sex scenes in Ink in the Blood (a, b, c, or d).  A. I'm feeling tingly.  B. Hmm, I need to relieve some pressure. C. I need to change my panties! D. I totally had an orgasm without touching myself, need to change my panties AND need a cigarette!
A:  I'd say it definitely rates a C

Q: Name one thing that pisses you off.
A: Tapioca pudding!

  3. My sister convinced me the tapioca were fish eggs in our youth so she could eat my pudding. To this day, I can't eat it. And it makes me mad because I KNOW they aren't fish eggs. But I just can't do it :)
