Deep in Crimson was a slow burner for me. It took me a few chapters before becoming engrossed in the story, but once engrossed, I stayed that way.
Jett's outsider, antisocial but protective personality worked for me. Without having to relive every moment of his horrible childhood, the author did a great job of giving you a feel for what he went through and you felt for him. I rooted for him and his budding relationship with Lexine.a Rafflecopter giveaway
The world-building was good and had I read the first book in the series it probably would have been even better. The writing was great, the side characters interesting, the villain twisted. There is no insta-love here, the relationship between Jett and Lexine takes its time.
Deep in Crimson was a new (to me) spin on the roles of angels and demons and I enjoyed it.
